At the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), the O·Vodka was named the world's best vodka in its category, selected from over 2,400 entries across 96 countries. A milestone that put Destillerie Farthofer on the international map.

We were named Distillery of the Year 2026 by Falstaff – one of the most prestigious honours in the German-speaking world of fine food and drink. The award affirms our uncompromising commitment to quality, our artisanal approach, and our clear positioning in the premium segment.

The British trade magazine The Drinks Business honoured Destillerie Farthofer with the Green Award for sustainable spirits production. The jury recognised the holistic circular economy approach, the use of elephant grass as a heating fuel, and the consistent Bio certification.

The O·Gin claimed first place in the blind tasting conducted by the German trade magazine Mixology – a mark of recognition from the professional bar scene that speaks to the quality and distinctive aroma profile of the gin.

The O·Rum was awarded in the Falstaff Bar & Spirits Guide. The Austrian lifestyle and gastronomy guide confirmed the exceptional quality of this rum distilled from organic cane sugar.

Together with Bavarian organic baker Nikodemus Gottschaller, Josef Farthofer developed a process for distilling high-quality bread schnapps from leftover organic bread. This upcycling project to prevent food waste was honoured with the Austrian Viktualia Award.

As early as 2008, Josef Farthofer was nominated for the nationwide Austrian Climate Protection Prize for his commitment to sustainable energy production – an early sign that pointed the way for Destillerie Farthofer in the years to come.

Our most recent award in the sustainability category recognises the consistent advancement of our circular economy approach – including a reduction in water consumption of over 50% through innovative refurbishments.

Destillerie Farthofer is certified to the IFS International Featured Standards – an internationally recognised standard for food and product safety. The certification confirms structured processes, seamless traceability, and the highest quality requirements throughout the entire production chain.

At the Craft Spirits Berlin Awards 2021, our Zirbenschnaps was honoured with Gold and additionally awarded the title of Best in Class. This double accolade underscores the exceptional quality and distinctive flavour profile of our Zirbenschnaps in an international comparison.

Destillerie Farthofer is kosher certified – confirmed by a recognised kosher certification authority. This certification ensures that all production steps comply with Jewish dietary laws and are carried out under strict supervision – an additional mark of quality for purity, transparency, and international acceptance.
