Cocktail Mostviertler Gruß (Destillerie Farthofer)

Mostello Sprizz

  • Ice cubes

  • 4 cl Bio Mostello dry

  • 2 cl Bio elderflower syrup

  • 12 cl soda water

The Mostello is made exclusively from Bio pears using the port wine method. It is neither filtered nor fined and matures completely naturally for four years in barrique casks, outdoors and in the cellar house. This pear dessert wine has a beautiful amber colour, a delicate hint of honey on the nose, and evokes dried fruits on the palate.

The cocktail Mostello Sprizz is "built in glass" – no bar equipment needed. Simply pour all the ingredients directly over ice cubes into a stemmed glass and stir. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves as you like. Enjoy!

Cocktail Mostviertler Gruß (Destillerie Farthofer)

Mostviertel Port Wine Sauce

  • 200 ml Bio red wine

  • 200 ml Bio Mostello

  • 300 ml Bio vegetable or beef stock

  • 1 Bio onion

  • 100 g Bio sugar, brown

  • Bio butter to taste

  • Salt, pepper and additional spices to taste

  • fresh Bio rosemary

For the sauce, finely dice the onion and sauté in butter until golden, then deglaze with half of the stock. In a separate saucepan, caramelise the sugar and deglaze with the remaining half of the stock. Combine everything and add the red wine and Mostello over a low heat. Season to taste and let simmer until the desired consistency is reached. Adjust seasoning and finish with fresh rosemary. Bon appétit!
