Kladdkaka a la Farthofer

Kladdkaka what?! Kladdkaka is a Swedish chocolate cake recipe, often translated as "Swedish sticky chocolate cake". In its original form, this cake is known for its gooey and moist texture. Since 1990, "Kladdkaka Day" has been celebrated on 7th November – and since we love chocolate, we're more than happy to join in the celebration.

We opted for a less sticky but altogether more intense version, made with our Bio Schokoladenlikör and baked in a muffin tin. We hope you enjoy trying our recipe "Kladdkaka a la Farthofer"! 🥰🍫

Cocktail Mostviertler Gruß (Destillerie Farthofer)

Ingredients:

  • 100 g butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 200 g sugar

  • 75 g flour

  • 25 g cocoa

  • a pinch of salt

  • 3 cl chocolate liqueur

  • icing sugar for dusting

  • chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey treat

To prepare these delicious Kladdkaka muffins with chocolate liqueur, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Melt 100 grams of butter and leave it to cool slightly. In a large bowl, whisk 2 eggs and 200 grams of sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then add the cooled, melted butter and the chocolate liqueur. Sift 75 grams of flour, 25 grams of cocoa and a pinch of salt into the mixture, gently fold in the dry ingredients, and divide the batter evenly into prepared muffin cases. Bake the muffins in the preheated oven for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Check whether they are done with a toothpick – if it comes out clean, the muffins are ready. After baking, leave the muffins to cool on a wire rack and dust them generously with icing sugar before serving.
