Some time ago, we harvested grain for our whisky. We filmed a short video during the harvest. The farmer whose field we harvested casually mentioned something about "Steinkraft" said. Some people pricked up their ears at this and asked questions. Here is an article about what it's all about and who is behind it.
For orientation. The company is called STEINKRAFT, the product used is GRÜNKRAFT. GRÜNKRAFT is a one-hundred-percent natural product. So 100% natural, in fact, that it appears in the InfoXgen input catalogue — the list that tells organic farmers what they are permitted to use on their fields and land. GRÜNKRAFT is a powder consisting mainly (97%) of lime. The remaining 3%, however, is the difference that makes a difference. Thermally activated processed rock. Zeolite (with the active ingredient clinoptilolite 1g568, for those who want to know every last detail) is what gives GRÜNKRAFT the power to strengthen plants.
The Power of GRÜNKRAFT
"GRÜNKRAFT is applied in ultra-fine grinding as a spray for arable crops, naturally promoting plant growth and quality. GRÜNKRAFT strengthens root development and increases the resilience and vitality of plants, especially on soils with a low pH value. This minimises deficiency symptoms and typical diseases. GRÜNKRAFT bolsters the plant's own natural forces and supports it during periods of drought and frost. GRÜNKRAFT has a positive influence on flowering and fruit set, leading to increased yields. GRÜNKRAFT enhances the quality of the harvest, the flavour, and the storage life of the fruit."
Here is a video explaining the composition, production and effects of Grünkraft.

For as a distillery that continues and will continue to engage intensively with the topic of Whisky… this always means premium harvest material, healthy grain, and therefore the best foundation for clean, intense, and expressive grain distillates. And of course it also means outstanding raw ingredients for our new Malzwelt. We're delighted to be working with Helmut Schirmbrand and look forward to many more harvests to come. Bio rocks!
