For bartenders and spirits producers, there is one event in Europe that simply cannot be missed. The annual Bar Convent in Berlin. 24,000 square metres of exhibition space for 15,000 visitors – all set in one of the coolest venues in the city. Brand ambassadors and world-class bartenders such as Shingo Gokan and Kirsten Holm talk about the latest trends and products. We are there together with the Freimeisterkollektiv and are presenting the Mahembe coffee liqueurs and the young relative of an old favourite: Speckbirne 302. And of course our new whiskies

Freimeisterkollektiv – An Exciting Collaboration

The Freimeisterkollektiv is currently one of the most exciting projects in the industry. It is a collaboration of individualists. Hand-picked and rallied together by Theo Ligthart and Manfred Ritter, with the aim of giving the big players in the spirits industry a crafty kick in the shins — figuratively speaking. More precisely, the idea is to offer bartenders the outstanding products of small, artisan distilleries. And all of it presented in a unified and pretty cool package. "We're charting new paths in flavour and marketing, so the spirits market doesn't get left to the industry giants," say the Freimeister — and they hit the nail right on the head.

We are represented in the Freimeisterkollektiv with three products. There were actually five at one point. But while our coffee spirits KOCHERE NATURAL and KANGUNU AA were excellent, they have sold out. Still going strong are MAHEMBE and MAHEMBE COLD BREW. The MAHEMBE is a classic coffee spirit — as always, highly aromatic and true to its variety. The MAHEMBE COLD BREW, on the other hand, is a coffee liqueur. Since we are pros when it comes to distilling but "merely enthusiasts" when it comes to coffee, we brought a true expert on board for these products. Ralf Rüller is a pioneer in the scene — quite possibly Germany's finest nose for beans. For the MAHEMBE, he chose a coffee from western Rwanda. The beans are roasted a little less intensely, which preserves their delicate, floral notes.

We are, in any case, incredibly proud to be part of the Freimeisterkollektiv. We're delighted by the collaboration. And we're enjoying every moment of the Bar Convention — rocking the capital in style!
