One the palate one perceives freshly hulled hazelnuts in this distillate, with a light note of nougat and cocoa butter. Its incomparable flavour of fine nougat spices and white chocolate make this schnapps a sipping experience of a rare sort.
The hazelnuts are chopped – without the shells – and briefly roasted. After which they are macerated in purest grain spirit. Next they are gently distilled in the kettle. The distillate enjoys a resting period of about a year, and is then rectified with our Urgestein spring water to the strength of 40% alcohol.
Our Haselnussgeist is best enjoyed at room temperature, between 18–20°C.
