The Malt Variety!

Schlägler Roggen, Brauweizen Hermann and Nackthafer are just three of a total of eight organic grain varieties grown on our own 45-hectare organic farming operation. In our very own malting house in Öhling, we also process very small grain batches, which allows us to craft a broad spectrum of incomparable rarities.

Our whisky has already been awarded gold in New York. True to our philosophy of "From Field to Bottle", we live by our 10 Whisky Transparency Pledges. But the best way to be convinced is to come and see for yourself: visit us at the Mostelleria, take a look at our very own malting house and taste our various whiskies. Recipe ideas to recreate at home

Long drink: Horse's Neck

Ingredients:

The evocative name "Horse's Neck" comes from the garnish: the lemon zest's shape and silhouette are reminiscent of a horse's neck. For our Mostviertel twist, we use our Whisky Nackthafer with its bold grain notes and subtle hints of floral honey. To make it, add plenty of ice to the glass, pour in the whisky and bamboo bitters, then top up with ginger ale. And of course, the classic lemon zest garnish is an absolute must. Cheers!

Bio Malzsirup

We are absolutely delighted with our homemade malt syrup, which we crafted during the Mostviertel field trials. Naturally, we wouldn't want to keep the recipe to ourselves:

Ingredients for Bio Malt Syrup:

Steep the malt in water for at least 8 hours, then strain. Bring to a boil with the sugar and reduce slightly. Pour the syrup into sterilised bottles and leave to cool uncovered. Kept refrigerated, the malt syrup will last for several months. Enjoy the process!
